Russia’s increase in military activity in Ukraine makes mockery of ceasefire, says Grybauskaite

Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaite has pronounced the Minsk ceasefire deal between Ukraine, Russia and its military proxies in east Ukraine dead; because of Russia’s continual violations of the deal and because of its increase in military activity in Ukraine.

Her comments came as Ukraine reported another 5 soldiers had been killed in combat in east Ukraine and amid reports of Russian forces continuing to mass near the Ukrainian port of Mariupol.

While the West continues to point to multiple serious breaches of the Minsk accord Russia on Tuesday blamed the EU for the apparent collapse of Minsk with Segei Lavrov saying that the EU does not want the Ukraine ceasefire to hold.
