Latvia to host Baltic summit in early June

RIGA, May 20 (RIA Novosti) – Riga will host the seventh summit of Baltic countries on June 3-4 to discuss regional development, energy, logistics and finance, Latvian officials said on Tuesday. The summit in the Latvian capital will be attended by heads of government of Germany, Sweden, Poland, Norway, Finland, Denmark Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia. An invitation has also been issued to the Russian premier Vladimir Putin, a source in the Latvian government said.A business forum with the participation of major companies will be held on the sidelines of the summit. The forum’s goal is to promote relations between Baltic countries and improve economic development and cooperation in the region as a whole.
