In May, representatives of the government went on 34 trips abroad, as LETA was informed by the State Chancellery’s Communications Department.
Prime Minister Ivars Godmanis (Latvia’s First Party/ Latvia’s Way, LPP/LC) visited Lithuania and the Czech Republic.
Special Assignment Electronic Government Affairs Minister Signe Balina went to Belgium, Minister of Foreign Affairs Maris Riekstins (People’s Party) went on visits to France, Georgia, Belgium and Sweden.
Economy Minister Kaspars Gerhards (For Fatherland and Freedom/LNNK) went to Kazakhstan, Finance Minister Atis Slakteris (People’s Party) went to Belgium, Welfare Minister Iveta Purne (Green and Farmers Union) visited Slovenia and Estonia.
Minister of Education and Science Tatjana Koke (Green and Farmers Union) went on visits to Germany, Azerbaijan, Belgium and Switzerland. Environment Minister Raimonds Vejonis went to Germany, Agriculture Minister Martins Roze (Green and Farmers Union) visited Lithuania, Belgium and Slovenia, Defense Minister Vinets Vedre (People’s Party) went to Belgium.
Culture Minister Helena Demakova (People’s Party) went to Italy, France, Belgium and Greece, Health Minister Ivars Eglitis (People’s Party) was in Switzerland. Special Assignment Society Integration Minister Oskars Kastens (LPP/LC) went to Ireland and Estonia, Minister of Children and Family Affairs Ainars Bastiks (LPP/LC) went on a trip to Belgium.
Transport Minister Ainars Slesers (LPP/LC) visited Slovenia, Japan, Korea, Sweden and Germany.
