Fewer Crimes Were Registered in Baltic Countries Last Year

Fewer crimes were registered in all Baltic countries last year, according to the Central Statistical Bureau’s data.

By comparison with 2001, the number of registered crimes decreased the most in Lithuania last year – by 8.4 percent. 72,646 crimes were registered in Lithuania in 2002.

8.2 percent fewer crimes were registered in Estonia last year – 53,293 crimes. Whereas in Latvia, 49,329 crimes were registered last year, 3.4 percent down from 2001.
