Baltic American Freedom League Condemns Russian Invasion of Ukraine

The Baltic American Freedom League strongly condemns the Russian violation of Ukrainian territorial sovereignty and calls on the U.S. and all freedom loving nations to act in such a manner that compels Russian military forces to withdraw from illegally occupied Ukrainian territory.

President Putin’s ordering of Russian military into Ukraine violates the 1994 Budapest Memorandum on Security Assurances and other international conventions. We call upon international organizations such as the United Nations, NATO, the OSCE, and the council of Europe to act without delay.

The Baltic American Freedom League is aware that this Russian military incursion has precedent in previous actions by Russia in Georgia. Russian Troops still occupy Abkhazia and South Ossetia.

The Russian Federation’s decision to use its troops on the soil of another sovereign country is aggression as defined in the United Nations General Assembly Resolution 3314, 1974, and is in breach of Budapest memorandum of December 5, 1994.

Please contact your Congressperson, your Senators and ask them to support the people of Ukraine and the new pro democracy government. Please ask President Obama to demand that Russia stop the aggression in Ukraine and the neighboring states.
